RCMP release:
Kings District RCMP is requesting assistance from the public for help in identifying a man involved in an armed robbery in Coldbrook.
On February 16 at approximately 3:20 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a robbery at a restaurant in the 7100 block of Hwy. 1 in Coldbrook. General duty officers, General Investigation Section, Nova Scotia RCMP Police Dog Services, Southwest Nova Traffic Services, and Kentville Police Service attended.
Through the investigation, officers learned that a man entered the restaurant, placed a weapon on the front counter, and demanded money from the staff. The suspect then left on foot, running towards a nearby parking lot. During follow up with neighbouring businesses, officers learned that the man got into the passenger seat of a car parked nearby before the car left, going eastbound on Hwy. 1. Investigators believe that another person was driving the vehicle.
There were no injuries reported.
At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, patterned pants (possibly a flower pattern), white shoes, a black baseball cap, and a face mask. He is described as 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-9 with a slim build.
The vehicle is described as a blue or grey 4-door Chevrolet Cruze, 2010 or similar model.
The driver is described as having light coloured hair, and facial hair.
The investigation is ongoing with support from Kentville Police Service, Annapolis County District RCMP, and Nova Scotia RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
