Police investigating after youth asked to get into vehicle

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a suspicious circumstances call that occurred in Dartmouth last week.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. on November 4, a man got out of his vehicle and approached a 13-year-old youth in a parking lot on Horizon Court. The man asked the youth for directions and then asked the youth to get in his vehicle. The youth did the right thing and walked away. The man left the area in an unknown direction of travel. The youth later told a trusted adult who reported the incident to police.

The man is described as white, in his mid-70s, approximately 5’ 6” tall, balding with white hair and possibly wearing a black suit. The vehicle he was driving was described as a newer model black SUV, possibly General Motors make, with tinted windows and a grey interior. It was very clean and had no damage.

Police are looking to speak with the man or anyone who may have information in relation to the incident or video of the area.
