Police Investigating Robberies during the early morning hours

At 115 am Police responded to the Petro Canada Gas Station, 124 Kearney Lake Road, Halifax,  in response to a hold- up alarm.

Upon arrival on scene it was learned that four males attempted to gain entry into the convenience store area of the gas station. The Petro Canada Station has security glass and doors and customers do not enter the store after certain hours.  One of the males who had a rifle smashed the butt of the gun into the door and two others attempted to pull it open. The rifle was pointed at the clerk from the outside and they demanded entry. The clerk held her ground and did not allow entry and sounded the alarm. The four males fled the area, after not gaining entry. No one was injured and nothing was taken in this attempted robbery. A search of the area with K-9 did not locate the suspects.

The clerk at the time could give partial descriptors of the suspects. All suspects had hoodies  pulled over their heads, all were males. One male had a black hoddie on and a dark bandana over his face, he was thin approximately 5'11" . A second male had a blue/purple hoodie with a white bandana over his face he was approximately 5'6", with straight brown hair and blue eyes. the clerk could give no further descriptors. Investigators are awaiting to view the security cameras at the store.

At 133 am,  Police responded to the Needs Store, 33 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, in response to a hold-up alarm. Upon arrival on the scene it was learned that two males attempted to gain entry into the convenience store. The Needs Store also has a security door and the lone female clerk would not allow them entry. The two male persons demanded entry,  one was described as a white male thin approximately 6' to 6'2 wearing a white hoodie with black trim, he was wearing a blue bandana over his face,  3/4 length jean shorts, black shoes and he was wearing white gloves. The second male had a blue/purple hoodie and bandana, there were no weapons seen but one of the suspects had his hands in his pocket, gesturing as if he did. The two suspects fled the store as it was approached by a customer. Investigators are awaiting to view the security cameras at the store.

Stolen Vehicle Causes Property Damage

3. At approximately 121 am,  police responded to Skeena Drive at Main Avenue in Halifax, to a report of a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival on scene it was learned that the vehicle was stolen earlier in the night from the Clayton Park area of Halifax and the driver had fled the area. Witness's stated that the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed south on Main Avenue and smashed into a parked Ford F-250 pushing it up over the curb onto the grass area of a residence on Main Avenue. The vehicle continued down Main Avene with its passenger doors open and crashed into a garbage bin. The vehicle a Red Kia suffered extensive front end damage. It is believed that there were two persons in the vehicle, and they fled the scene leaving personal effects in the car, and a recent purchase of McDonalds. Police are continuing with the investigation, and will conduct a  forensic examination of the vehicle.  There were no descriptions obtained of the occupants of the vehicle.  No one outside of the vehicle was injured in this incident.
