At approximately 11:50 a.m. police received a report that a man had entered a residence in the 6000 block of Cunard Street and sexually assaulted a woman. The suspect fled the residence and the woman contacted police to report the incident.

The suspect is described as an older man with brown skin, tall, with a slim build, and short gray hair. He was wearing white Nike running shoes and a black baseball cap.

We are in the very early stages of the investigation, which is ongoing.

Sexual assault investigations are very complex. As part of our victim-centered, trauma-informed approach to sexualized violence, we work closely with victims to ensure they’re willing to proceed with a police investigation, which includes giving a statement about the incident. Police must also ensure the victim’s privacy is upheld and well-being is fully considered.
