Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation
Section are investigating a shooting that took place earlier this
afternoon.
At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of shots being fired on
Ahearn Avenue outside Citadel High School. Upon arrival, shell casing
were found on the roadway and by the sidewalk. At this time, there are
no reports of any injuries nor do investigators believe that shots were
fired at the building.
Investigators are speaking to staff at the school and will be reviewing
video surveillance to see if the people involved can be identified.
While the investigation is in its early stages, it is believed that this
is not a random incident and is connected with an on-going dispute.
