Police investigating suspicious fire

On April 4, at approximately 11 a.m., fire services, followed by Guysborough County District RCMP, responded to an active structure fire at a property near the 6700 block of Hwy. 16 in Halfway Cove.

Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers found firefighters working to extinguish flames at an unoccupied residence.

Based on the information and evidence gathered at the home, the fire has been deemed suspicious in nature.

The investigation, led by Guysborough County District RCMP, is ongoing; the Office of the Fire Marshal is assisting.
