Police Investigating Suspicious Fire

At approximately 6 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a suspicious fire at a residence in the 0-100 block of Williams Lake Road. When officers arrived, members of Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency were on scene and had extinguished the fire. No one was injured during this incident.
 
At this time, investigators believe an accelerant was used to start the fire. Two people wearing dark-coloured hoodies were seen fleeing the area on foot, headed in the direction of Purcells Cove Road. Members of the K9 unit were dispatched and conducted a track of the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
 
While investigating the suspicious fire, officers executed a search warrant at the residence and seized a firearm and ammunition as well as a bullet proof vest and a sensory irritant. Two men were taken into custody for questioning.
