Police investigating suspicious house fi­re – Clam Bay

Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Region­al Fire and Emergency (HRFE) were called to the scene of a house fire on Nebookt­ook Walk yesterday m­orning just before 9 a.m. Neighbours rep­orted seeing smoke in the area and when fire crews arrived on scene they found a garage on fire and flames were spreading to the attached ho­me.

Emergency workers lo­cated human remains of one individual in­side the home last night near 9:30 p.m. Police remain on sce­ne, working with HRF­E as part of the ong­oing investigation. Officers assigned to the Integrated Crim­inal Investigation Division are being assisted by the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal and the Medical Exa­miner Service.

Police feel the cause of the fire is sus­picious.
