On May 17, Police responded to three serious incidents that occurred in the communities of Upper Hammonds Plains, Hammonds Plains, and Lucasville. The three incidents appear to be related and police are working to determine what happened.
Just before 10 p.m. on May 17, the theft of a motor vehicle and a kidnapping from a residence on Pockwock Rd. was reported to police. When police arrived at the home of the victim, there were no witnesses to either incident and the family did not want to cooperate with police.
A short time later, police received a call regarding a man who was injured and covered in blood, and was walking along White Hills Run. Before police arrived at the scene, the injured man was picked up by another person and driven to the hospital.
Shortly after 11 p.m., police were called to the scene of a home invasion and unlawful confinement on Lucasville Rd. The call indicated the victims had been tied up and robbed. The suspects left the scene before police arrived, and the owners of the home were located nearby. They did not want to co-operate with police.
The home on Lucasville Rd. was secured overnight Wednesday as police conducted their investigation. Police were on scene during the day yesterday. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and is being led by the Integrated General Investigation Section. Police are asking anyone with information about what happened in either of the three locations to call Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at 902 490-5020.
