Police investigating vehicle fire – Dartmouth

Investigators with the General Investiga­tion Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Divisi­on are investigating a vehicle fire that occurred last night in Dartmouth.

At 10:13 p.m., offic­ers responded to a report of vehicle fire in the 200 block of Wyse Road where Ha­lifax Fire and Emerg­ency were already on scene and had extin­guished the fire. Po­lice were informed that an older white man had been observed across the street from the fire crouched behind another veh­icle and appeared to be watching the fir­e.

The man had left the area prior to po­lice arrival and was not located. An inc­endiary device was also located next to the burnt vehicle. The vehicle has not been reported stolen and police are trying to reach the owner.
