Police Investigating Violent Road Rage incident

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a violent physical altercation that occurred today in Halifax.

At 1:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a physical altercation between two male drivers in the area of North West Arm Drive and Peter Saulnier Drive.

It was learned that the two drivers were yelling at each other as they drove along North West Arm Drive, eventually stopping at Peter Saulnier Drive. The driver of one of the vehicles got out and approached the other vehicle, which was occupied by a male driver and two passengers (a woman and a child), and began punching the other driver through the open window. The driver being punched drove a short distance away, then stopped when he noticed that the other man had fallen to the ground. The man who had fallen then got up and ran at the vehicle and began punching the driver once again through the window and grabbing his arm. The man inside the vehicle then grabbed a knife and stabbed the other man in the arm.

Police arrived on scene to find the two men suffering from non-life threatening injuries. They were then taken to hospital for treatment.

This incident remains under investigation and charges are anticipated.
