A man faces numerous charges following a traffic stop in Halifax on Friday.
On April 8 at 8:20 p.m., patrol members, with the assistance of the Central Quick Response Unit, conducted a traffic stop in the area of Connaught Avenue and Windsor Street. After searching the vehicle, officers located quantities of cocaine, marijuana, Diazepam and a sum of cash. While being placed under arrest, the male driver pushed an officer and attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended.
Twenty-nine-year-old Gary Devin Kohlmier of Halifax is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis and possession for the purpose of trafficking in Diazepam, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and escaping lawful custody. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial court today.
A 29-year-old woman who arrived at the scene was also taken into custody in relation to this incident and later released. The investigation regarding her involvement in this matter continues.
