Police lay drug charges after traffic stop on stolen truck

Three men face charges in connection with a traffic stop last night in Bedford.

 

At approximately 9:20 p.m. on June 29, members of the West, Central and East Quick Response Units conducted a traffic stop on a truck on the Bedford Highway near Moirs Mill Road. Officers were aware that the black Ford F150 had been reported as stolen last month. Three men were arrested at the scene without incident.

 

Officers searched the truck and located a quantity of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia and a sum of money.

 

Twenty-five-year-old Matthew Richard Hardy and 20-year-old Tyler Mark Orland Power, both of Halifax, and 24-year-old Shane Michael Frizzell of Shubenacadie all face charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in marijuana and possession of stolen property over $5,000 (truck). Hardy and Power also face three counts of breaching a probation order and Frizzell faces three counts of breaching a recognizance and was arrested for other outstanding unrelated charges.  

 

All three men are scheduled to appear in Halifax court today.
