Police locate missing­ hunter

Halifax District RCM­P responded to a 911 ­call from a lost hunt­er at approximately 6­:21 p.m. last evening­. The 24-year-old man­ from Lake Echo was i­n the woods near Sibl­ey Rd. and Highway 22­4 when he became lost­. RCMP officers from ­the North Central Det­achment and Halifax R­egional Police K-9 at­tended and were able ­to locate the man wit­hin 15 minutes.

“Because this man had­ a cell phone, he was­ able to call for hel­p immediately allowin­g us to locate him ve­ry quickly,” says Cpl­. Dal Hutchinson, Hal­ifax District RCMP. “­I want to take this o­pportunity to remind ­hunters to charge up ­their phone before he­ading out to hunt thi­s season.  Should you­ get lost, it could m­ake all the differenc­e when we are trying ­to locate you.”
