Halifax District RCMP responded to a 911 call from a lost hunter at approximately 6:21 p.m. last evening. The 24-year-old man from Lake Echo was in the woods near Sibley Rd. and Highway 224 when he became lost. RCMP officers from the North Central Detachment and Halifax Regional Police K-9 attended and were able to locate the man within 15 minutes.
“Because this man had a cell phone, he was able to call for help immediately allowing us to locate him very quickly,” says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, Halifax District RCMP. “I want to take this opportunity to remind hunters to charge up their phone before heading out to hunt this season. Should you get lost, it could make all the difference when we are trying to locate you.”
