Police look to speak with driver in vehicle/cyclist collision

Halifax Regional Police are looking to speak with the driver involved in a motor vehicle/cyclist collision that occurred earlier this month in Halifax.

On August 10 at approximately 1 p.m. police responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist in the 3200 block of Devonshire Avenue in Halifax. Both the vehicle and the cyclist were headed southbound on Devonshire Avenue when the cyclist changed lanes in front of the vehicle and was struck. The cyclist, a 30-year-old woman from Halifax, was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene after the collision and police are looking to speak with the driver. The vehicle is described as a silver four-door BMW sedan. The vehicle was driven by a woman and believed to have children in the rear seat at the time of the incident.

Police are asking the driver or anyone with information on the incident to call 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
