Police looking for bank robbery suspect

Kings District RCMP is investigating after an armed robbery occurred at a bank on Commercial St. in Berwick.

On May 5, at approximately 1:10 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a 911 call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at a bank on Commercial St. in Berwick. Kings District RCMP members from Kingston, New Minas and Wolfville Detachments, along with members of the Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section, Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and RCMP Police Dog Services, responded.

Investigators learned that a man had entered the bank, brandished a weapon and demanded cash from an employee. The man was given a sum of cash and he then fled the bank on foot. No one was injured during the incident.

The man was described as white, 5’8” tall and a slim build. The man’s hair was described as dark, with a receding hairline and a buzz cut. The man was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans.

RCMP officers conducted numerous patrols throughout Berwick, with assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, however the man was not located.
