Police looking for man who stole money from blind victim

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a man who stole money from a woman who is legally blind at Pete’s Frootique on Dresden Row in Halifax.
 
On May 1, at 6:40 p.m., the woman was shopping in the store and while she was busy looking at items, a man approached her shopping cart and stole her purse. The purse was later found from a garbage can on Dresden Row and the victim’s money was missing. 
 
Police are releasing pictures of the suspect who is described as a white man in his fifties. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark baseball cap, blue jacket and blue jeans. He left the store without making any purchases.
