Monday, March 5th 2012 Halifax Regional Municipality (HRS) N.S….. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP ) Halifax District responded to a theft of a Chev pick up truck and a trailer with a Toyota Matrix on the back, on the Olds Guysborough Road, in Goffs, at 1505 hours.

The trailer with the Toyota still on the back was recovered a short time later on another part of Old Guysborough Road. At 1558 hours a complaint was received that the Chev pick up truck crashed into a garage on Highway 277 in Lantz. Two suspects were in the stolen Chev pickup when it hit the garage. They ran off the road a short distance away. Witnesses watched  the three suspects flee into the woods on foot. An HRP dog handler and his police service dog tracked the suspects through dense brush until the three suspects were located and arrested at 1735 hours.

Members of the Integrated General Investigation Section assisted with the followup investigation.  Two male adults ( one from Head Jeddore and the other of no fixed address ) and a male young offender ( no fixed address ) appeared in court on March 6th 2012 on 26 criminal code charges. None of the suspects were injured in any of the accidents they were involved in with the stolen vehicles ( all recovered). The investigation is continuing.
