Police officer arrested for identity fraud, Sydney, N.S.

 

RCMP in Nova Scotia arrested a Cape Breton Regional Police officer following an investigation into allegations of identity fraud.

On Wednesday October 7, RCMP investigators searched a residence within the CBRM and seized a number of electronic devices. In addition, investigators seized a computer from a Cape Breton Regional Police Service vehicle.

A 39-year-old-officer has been released from custody and will be facing a charge of Identity fraud. He is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on December 15, 2015.

The investigation is ongoing.
