Police officer bitten by man during arrest
A police officer from the Bridgewater Police Service (BPS),​ who was assisting the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Unit​ (SCEU) was injured during the arrest of a man​ wanted on a warrant.​ The warrant was related to previous charges that occurred in Queens​ County,​ including:
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Uttering Threats
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited
  • Failure to comply with Condition of a Recognizance (3 counts)
The arrest occurred on November 20 and was the result of an investigation involving the South Shore Integrated SCEU and Bridgewater Police Service.​ Police​ had been attempting to locate and arrest​ 23-year-old Lucas Cory Greek of Conquerall Mills for numerous offences in addition to the warrant.​ Police​ located Greek in​ Bridgewater and placed him under arrest. He​ resisted arrest and assaulted a BPS​ officer by biting him. After continuing to struggle with police,​ Greek was taken into custody. The BPS​ officer was taken to the local hospital for treatment.
In relation to the arrest on November 20, additional charges of Obstruction (Resisting Arrest) and Assaulting a Police Officer​ were laid.​ Greek was held overnight in RCMP custody and​ brought to​ court​ on Thursday November 21. He was subsequently remanded to​ November 25 when he will​ return to Bridgewater Provincial Court.
