(Updated) Police on scene in relation to seriously injured person

Update: Police continue to investigate injured person call

Police have confirmed the identity of an injured man found earlier this morning on Herring Cove Road in Halifax. He is a 51-year-old man from Halifax. A vehicle belonging to the injured man was seized at the scene earlier today.

Officers assigned to the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are continuing the investigation.

Halifax Regional Police are on scene investigating an injured person call that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At approximately 6:26 a.m. on December 1, police responded to a report of an injured man laying on the sidewalk in the 400 block of Herring Cove Road. The man was found on the ground unconscious with head injuries.

EHS attended and transported the man to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The investigation, led by the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and including Forensic Identification officers, is ongoing, and at this time, we anticipate being on scene at least throughout the day.
