Police are currently on the scene of a fatal shooting at a residence on Stage Rd. in Enfield.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. this afternoon, Halifax District RCMP responded to a weapons complaint at a residence on Stage Rd.

in Enfield. Upon arrival, police found an individual outside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. EHS paramedics were also dispatched to the scene, however efforts to treat the victim were not successful and the victim succumbed to the injury.

Homicide investigators from the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are leading the investigation, and at this point foul play is suspected. RCMP are not in a position to release the name, age, or gender of the victim at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
