Police on scene of shooting in North End Halifax

Update 9:45am – Hold and secure at nearby schools has been lifted.

Halifax Regional Police is on scene of a shooting that occurred in Halifax this morning.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. police responded to a report of an injured person in the area of the 3600 block of Rosemeade Avenue in Halifax. Officers located a man with gunshot wounds. Two men, who are believed to be known to each other, were in a dispute and one of the men shot the other. The victim was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers are still in the area and are looking for the suspect. He is described as a white man with short dark hair, wearing a beige cardigan over a white shirt, dark baggy pants, grey shoes and carrying a grey shoulder bag.
