Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects following a theft at the Marshall’s in Dartmouth Crossing and an assault where a citizen tried to intervene.
At 5:44 p.m. on December 6, police received a call to the Marshall’s at 75 Countryview Drive. A loss prevention office followed two men out of the store with a full shopping cart each, and neither made any attempt to pay for these items. A man and woman were parking their car when they noted the one of the suspects parked directly beside them quickly putting items in the trunk of his car. They then noted the loss prevention officer following the other suspect in the direction of the car. The man tried to see the license plate on the suspect vehicle but was pushed away by the suspect who had been putting items in the trunk of the car. When the other suspect approached the car with the loss prevention officer following him, the man tried to intervene and was told by this suspect to get out of the way and then showed him a knife. During this, the other suspect pushed the man to the ground and the suspects got into their vehicle and fled the area.
The suspects are described as a two white men in their early twenties and with slim builds and short brown hair. One was wearing a dark colored Under Armour jacket, jeans and a green baseball cap at the time of the incident. The second suspect has light facial hair, was wearing a white coat, dark pants, white shoes and was wearing a dark baseball cap at the time of the incident. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model Honda Civic. No license plate was obtained.
