On Monday August 1, the 116th Annual Natal Day Parade is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. It will follow the same route as in years past, starting on Novalea Drive, traveling down Gottingen Street, crossing the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge, along Wyse Road, down Alderney Drive onto Prince Albert Road and finishing at Sullivan’s Pond. The route will be closed as the parade passes through and motorists should expect delays.
The 29th Annual Bridge Walk also takes place on Monday from 2 – 4 p.m. The MacDonald Bridge will be closed from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. for the parade and bridge walk.
With all the activities planned, police expect heavier then usual traffic on our roads this weekend. Motorists are advised to allow extra time to reach their destination. Pedestrians are also reminded to use crosswalks when crossing the street and to work in partnership with drivers to ensure that HRM streets are safe for everyone.
Visit www.natalday.org for more information on Natal Day Events and www.hdbc.ca/news.asp for information on bridge closures.
HRM Partners in Policing would like to wish everyone a fun and safe Natal Day.
