Police respond to a Robbery incident, Needs Convenience Store 275 Baker Drive, Dartmouth

At 9:12 pm east division patrol members responded to 275 Baker Drive, the Needs Convenience store. A lone female employee reported a male entered the store wearing a mask while holding a knife and demanding cash and cigarettes. The employee was not injured and the suspect fled the scene with cash and cigarettes.

HRP K-9 and patrol members set up containment. A short time later at 9:35 pm a 19 year old male, known to police, was arrested without incident outside a residence on Morningfield lane. The residence is being held pending a search warrant.

The accused will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today facing charges of Robbery and two counts of Breach of a Recognizance.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are currently assisting.
