Police respond to an early morning robbery

Shortly after midnight on July 23, 2019 police responded to the 2600 block of Gottingen St. for a report of an injured male.​ After investigation it was determined the male had been the victim of a robbery.​ The 62 year old male victim had been walking with a walker in the area of the 5500 block of Black St. in Halifax when he was attacked by two males who came out of an alleyway. ​ One of the males hit him in the head with an unknown object.​ The suspects then took the victim’s change purse.​ The suspects were described as two black males and one male wore a light coloured head covering with a twist or a knot in the front.​ K9 checked the area with negative results.

The male victim was taken by ambulance to the QE11 to be treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages.
