Police respond to school weapons incident

Police are investigating a weapons incident that occurred at a school in Halifax today.

At approximately 11:40 a.m., police responded to St. Agnes Junior High School, located at 6981 Mumford Road in Halifax. It was reported that a youth was assaulted by another youth with a pair of scissors.

Officers arrested the suspect on scene without incident. The victim was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no other reported injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
