Police respond to weapons complaint in Halifax

On July 29th at approximately 7:10 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded the 6000 block of Edinburgh Street, Halifax to a 911 call regarding a male who had threatened a female with a Machete in a residence. ​ A 22-year-old Halifax man was located and arrested by Police without incident.

The victim was not injured. The suspect and victim were not known to each other, however the victim was visiting the residence to visit his roommates. The weapon was recovered by Police.

The suspect will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of uttering threats to cause death, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, fail to comply with a probation order and breach of recognizance.
