Police search apartment and seize stolen property, Lower Sackville, N.S.

The General Investigation Section (GIS) of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at an apartment on Walker Avenue and seized stolen property last evening. Three adults, two males and a female were taken into custody and are being held for court on Wednesday, July 8.

Preliminary investigation into these matters began at approximately 7 a.m. yesterday and involved a complaint of theft of a motor vehicle from a business on Akerley Blvd in Dartmouth. Further investigation led police to an apartment complex on Walker Avenue where a search warrant was executed at approximately 7:30 p.m. Several items of stolen property were found inside the dwelling. Police found a 33-year-old woman from Sackville inside the apartment when they entered and discovered a second suspect, a 33-year-old Halifax man, had departed the home through the patio door and climbed up onto the roof. Police negotiated with the man for a short time and he climbed down and was taken into custody without further incident. A third suspect, a 27-year-old male from Sackville was located on Sackville Dr later in the evening and was taken into custody without incident.

The investigation is continuing.
