Police searching for suspects after SUV slams into house

RCMP release:

Pictou County District RCMP is seeking information from the public about the driver and passengers of a vehicle that left the road and hit a house.

On December 13 at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers attended a report of a vehicle that hit a house near the intersection of West River Rd. and High St., Pictou.

When officers arrived, they found a blue Mitsubishi RVR had left West River Rd. and hit the home, causing damage to the porch and siding. Investigators learned that two or three people exited the vehicle, removed the plate, and left on foot before police arrived.

There were no injuries reported by anyone inside the house.

The Mitsubishi RVR was not registered and officers believe the plates may have been stolen.

One of the vehicle’s occupants is described as a man, approximately 5-foot-5 with a thin build. He is believed to have been wearing a hoodie while carrying a leather jacket. The other is described as a woman, approximately 5-foot-5 with a thin build and shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a black crop top. Both appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties. A possible third person is believed to be a man; no other description is available. There may have also been a black dog in the vehicle.

Officers are seeking information about the vehicle and occupants as well as relevant dash camera footage or surveillance video from the area on December 13. Anyone with information who has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Pictou County District RCMP at 902-485-4333.
