Police seek assistance in identifying suspect in assault

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in an assault that occurred last month.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. on January 11 officers responded to a report of an assault in-progress near the 6900 block of Mumford Road in Halifax. A man got into a verbal dispute with a cab driver. When he was asked to leave the vehicle, he assaulted the driver and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early twenties, approximately 6” tall and 150 lbs with dark hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a red hat and a blue jacket.
