Police seek driver who left the scene after collision with cyclist this morning.

Halifax Regional Police is requesting the public’s assistance to identify the driver involved in a vehicle/bicycle collision that occurred in Halifax this morning.

At 6:40 a.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a bicycle on Quinpool Road near Connaught Avenue. The bicycle and vehicle were traveling eastbound on Quinpool Road when the vehicle stuck the bicycle from behind.

The driver initially stopped and spoke to the cyclist, but then left the scene without providing aid or personal information. The cyclist was transported to the hospital by EHS for treatment of non- life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is described as white woman, mid-late thirties, with shoulder length blonde hair in a pony tail. The vehicle was a 5-10-year-old, very dark green BMW S.U.V. The vehicle had a Nova Scotia License plate possibly starting with FVP. The vehicle was last seen traveling Southbound on Connaught Avenue.
