Police seek two suspects following mall assault

HRP release:

On January 30 at approximately 6:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a man with a knife inside Mic Mac Mall, located at 21 Mic Mac Boulevard in Dartmouth. Once on scene, officers located and arrested the man without incident.

While speaking with the man, officers learned he had been assaulted and briefly knocked unconscious while inside a store within the mall. When he regained consciousness, he pulled out a pocketknife in self-defense but did not threaten anyone with it. He advised officers that he remembered seeing a man and a woman before getting hit. Officers were able to corroborate the victim’s statement of events. The victim was not seriously injured and was released from custody without criminal charges.

There were no other reports of assaults or physical injury while officers were on scene.

One of the suspects is described as a white woman with a face tattoo wearing an electronic ankle monitor. Both suspects were observed fleeing the mall parking lot in a black sedan.

The investigation is ongoing.
