Police seize cannabis from illegal cannabis storefront

RCMP release:

Digby RCMP Detachment conducted an inspection under the Nova Scotia Cannabis Control Act at an illegal cannabis storefront in Digby and issued violation tickets.

On January 6, Digby RCMP officers attended an illegal cannabis storefront in the 300 block of Hwy. 303. During the inspection, officers seized a quantity of illegal cannabis in various forms, hashish, cash, unstamped tobacco, and vape products.

Two men present at the establishment were issued Summary Offence Tickets. The tickets were issued under section 20(1)(a) of the Cannabis Control Act (Person other than authorized seller operating store selling cannabis). One of the men was also safely arrested based on an outstanding warrant on an unrelated investigation.

Digby RCMP previously conducted an inspection at this location in December 2025, also under the authority of the provincial Cannabis Control Act.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Nova Scotia RCMP reminds residents that only licensed retailers can legally sell cannabis in the province. Products from illegal storefronts are unregulated and may pose health risks. The RCMP continues to enforce cannabis laws with a focus on public safety. Anyone with information about illegal drug activity is encouraged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers.
