Halifax Regional Police will host a free showcase at Mic Mac Mall on Saturday, May 11 from

9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This is an annual public event that kicks-off National Police Week which runs May 12-18. The showcase features Halifax Regional Police and other agencies including the Canadian Armed Forces Military Police, CN Police and Crime Stoppers, and will include displays, demonstrations and activities. Police officers will be available to answer questions from the public, and a number of police vehicles will be on-site, giving the public a rare chance to jump into the driver’s seat of a police cruiser. Displays and booths will be located on the bottom level near the former Target store and police vehicles will be parked outside near the Old Navy store.

Halifax Regional Municipality Solid Waste will host a FREE Shred-Instead event, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., in the lower parking lot. Shredding and recycling personal documents is an excellent way to help protect yourself from identity theft.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority will be on-site collecting unwanted medications for safe disposal.
