Police Ticket Couple Smoking in Vehicle with Child

From HRPD:

A man and woman were charged this morning after being observed smoking in their vehicle with a child present.

Officers stopped the vehicle just before 9 a.m. in the 2400 block of Robie Street after observing two adults smoking with an eight-year-old boy in the car. The man and woman, aged 39 and 30 respectively, were each issued a ticket under the Smoke Free Places Act.

This incident serves as a reminder that smoking in a vehicle with a person under the age of 19 present is not only a health risk but is also illegal.
