From HRPD:
In light of four recent incidents, HRM Partners in Policing are urging citizens to lock their residences even while they are at home.
In the last week, there have been four incidents where homes on the Halifax peninsula have been broken into, with entry being gained through an unlocked door. In one of the incidents, a resident was home at the time. The incidents have all occurred during the afternoon hours and involve residences on Carlton Street, Jubilee Road and the south end of Barrington Street. The thieves stole electronics in each case.
Citizens are reminded to lock their doors and easily accessible windows even while they are at home and to call police if they observe suspicious activity. Anyone with information about these or other similar incidents is asked to contact police at 490-5016 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
