HRM will resurface the basketball and tennis courts at Portuguese Cove this summer, but some local residents are hoping that while those improvements take place this would be a good time to make other changes to the 30-year-old playground.
Some of the improvements residents would like to see include:
-Grass is “thatch and spongy moss”
-No seating
-No gate door, making it unsafe for children who could easily run out onto Ketch Harbour Road
-No gravel paths, and a steep and narrow dirt-surface entrance present challenges for anyone in a wheelchair
Do you have other suggestions or complaints about the playground? I’ll post your letters: contact me.
