Possible COVID-19 exposure at Canada Games Centre

Public Health is advising of potential public exposure to COVID-19 in the Fitness Centre at Canada Games Centre, 26 Thomas Raddall Drive, Halifax on the following dates/times:

  • August 28, 29, 30 from 10 am to 1 pm
  • August 31 and September 1 from 5 pm to 8 pm

Public Health has been directly contacting anyone known to be a contact of the case involved.The risk of exposure is low, however Public Health is asking patrons of the fitness centre to self-monitor for development of symptoms. It is anticipated anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the dates noted may develop symptoms up to, and including, 14 days from their last potential exposure.
Call 811 if you’re experiencing or have experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours:

  • fever or cough (new or worsening)

ORTwo or more of the following symptoms (new or worsening):

  • sore throat
  • runny nose
  • headache
  • shortness of breath

 If you have any other symptoms that concern you, call 811 for assessment by a nurse.Please remember:

  • To self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps.
  • Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.

When Nova Scotia Health Public Health makes a public notification it is not in any way a reflection on the behavior or activities of those named in the notification.Currently, anyone travelling to Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Provinces is expected to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving.
All Nova Scotians are advised to continue monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms and are urged to follow Public Health guidelines on how to access care. Up to date information about COVID-19 is available at novascotia.ca/coronavirus
