Potential COVID-19 exposure on flight

Release:

Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 on the following flight:
Air Canada flight 626 on September 30 from Toronto to Halifax. It departed Toronto at 9:00 pm and arrived in Halifax at 12:14 am on October 1. Passengers in rows 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 seats D, E,F are more likely to have had close contact. Passengers in these seats are asked to call 811 for advice. 
It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, October 15. Those present on this flight but not in the identified rows and seats should continue to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 until October 15
COVID-19 symptoms include: 
Fever (i.e. chills/sweats) OR Cough (new or worsening) ORTwo or more of the following symptoms (new or worsening):

  • Sore throat 
  • Runny nose/nasal congestion 
  • Headache 
  • Shortness of breath 

If you were seated in the affected rows, please contact 811 for next steps.
If you were NOT in the affected rows, but on this flight and are experiencing any of the above COVID-19 symptoms:

  • Call 811 for assessment. Please self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps.
  • Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.

When Nova Scotia Health Public Health makes a public notification it is not in any way a reflection on the behavior or activities of those named in the notification. 
Currently, anyone travelling to Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Provinces is required to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving. 
All Nova Scotians are advised to continue monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms and are urged to follow Public Health guidelines on how to access care. Up to date information about COVID-19 is available at novascotia.ca/coronavirus.
