Potential COVID-19 exposure on Oct 12 (Second occurrence)

Nova Scotia Health is advising of a potential exposure to COVID-19 on October 12, 2020 between 5-6 p.m. The advisory is related to an individual(s) who accessed a cab departing the Halifax International Airport on October 12 between 5-6 pm, travelling to a residence in Halifax. The advisory is being issued out of an abundance of caution.
In addition, Nova Scotia Health is directly contacting anyone else known to be a close contact of the person(s) confirmed to have COVID-19. 
It is anticipated that anyone exposed may develop symptoms up to and including October 26, 2020.
Individuals that may have been exposed during this period should self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.  COVID-19 symptoms include:  Fever (chills, sweats, etc.) OR Cough (new or worsening)ORTwo or more of the following symptoms (new or worsening)

  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose / nasal congestion
  • Headache
  • Shortness of breath

·     If you have any COVID-19 symptoms: 

  • Call 811 for assessment and identify that you were at this location. Please self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps.
  • Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.

 When Nova Scotia Health makes a public notification it is not in any way a reflection on the behavior or activities of those named in the notification.  Anyone travelling to Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Provinces is expected to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving. Full details on travelling to Nova Scotia are available atnovascotia.ca/coronavirus. All Nova Scotians are advised to continue monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms and are urged to follow Public Health guidelines on how to access care.
