Mr. Speaker, on Monday of this week, I had the good fortune to visit Hillside Park Elementary School in Lower Sackville.

While there, I joined the pre-primary class to announce that, by the end of this week, all 50 pre-primary classes the province committed to, will open on time.

Government had an ambitious timeline to meet. We could not have done it without the hard work and dedication of staff from across the education system who worked days, evenings and weekends during the last several months to make sure that our children have this opportunity.

Mr. Speaker, today I thank those individuals and groups that made this possible.

From the Early Years Branch at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Mr. Speaker, I thank, Janet Lynn Huntington, Denise Stone, Anne Marie-Smith and Jill Piers.

I also thank the school boards, Mr. Speaker. A thank you to the superintendents, principals, human resource staff, program directors, school board communications staff, the new pre-primary managers and early childhood educators, and the many people and staff who helped to register the children, connect with the families and have these classrooms set up and ready to go.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
