Premier Stephen McNeil thanked former premier Darrell Dexter today for his leadership and commitment to the people and province of Nova Scotia. He also wished Mr. Dexter well as he moves on to new challenges.

“While we had differences in opinion on policy, I always admired Mr. Dexter’s commitment to public service and his efforts to make our great province a better place for families,” said Premier McNeil. “I wish him the best in whatever his future brings.”

Mr. Dexter announced his resignation as leader of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party earlier today, Nov. 16.
