“I’m looking forward to meeting my colleagues and working with them on national issues that are important to Nova Scotians and all Canadians,” said Premier McNeil.

The premiers will discuss a number of priorities, including proposed federal changes to skills training programs.

“We have shared interests, and frankly concerns, regarding the Canada Job Grant and other changes advanced by the federal government,” said Premier McNeil. “I am concerned with the unilateral approach in this important area, one that is the jurisdiction of the provinces.”

The premiers will also discuss other important areas of shared interest such as income security for retired Canadians, attracting investment and fiscal arrangements with the federal government.
