Premier Offers Condolences on Passing of Purdy Crawford

Premier Stephen McNeil offered condolences today, Aug. 12, to the family and friends of the late Purdy Crawford.Mr. Crawford, a respected lawyer, businessman and philanthropist, was a native of Five Islands, Colchester Co.

Premier Stephen McNeil offered condolences today, Aug. 12, to the family and friends of the late Purdy Crawford.

Mr. Crawford, a respected lawyer, businessman and philanthropist, was a native of Five Islands, Colchester Co.

He passed away today at the age of 82. Mr. Crawford was a Companion of the Order of Canada, a member of the Canadian Business Hall of Fame and the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame.

“Purdy Crawford was a giant in the Canadian business and law communities and his legacy will live on, not only through the lasting impact of his work, but also through the generation of leaders who considered him a friend and mentor,” said Premier McNeil. “I send my sincerest condolences to his wife Beatrice, his children and grandchildren, and all those who loved him.”
