Premier Stephen McNeil is sending a message of support for RCMP Const. David Wynn, who was seriously wounded in Alberta on Saturday, Jan. 17, and who worked as a paramedic in Bridgewater for years.
“The thoughts and prayers of all Nova Scotians are with David Wynn and his family in this difficult time,” said Premier McNeil. “He helped Nova Scotians in their times of need for years and has served bravely with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I’m sure I speak for the entire province when I say we are thinking of him.”
Const. Wynn was shot while confronting a suspected car thief in St. Albert, Alta.
He was reported to have been among the first responders to the Swissair Flight 111 airplane crash.
“We are all wishing the very best for Const. Wynn,” said Premier McNeil.
Municipal Affairs Minister Mark Furey worked with Const. Wynn in the past.
“He was very well liked and respected,” said Mr. Furey. “We wish him the very best.”
