Prescription pill trafficking leads to multiple arrests, Kings County, N.S.

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU), with assistance from the Kingston RCMP detachment, conducted an investigation into prescription pill trafficking in the communities of Kingston, Greenwood and Berwick.

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU), with assistance from the Kingston RCMP detachment, conducted an investigation into prescription pill trafficking in the communities of Kingston, Greenwood and Berwick.

The investigation led to the arrest of five individuals involved in trafficking hydromorphone.

Within the last day, several traffic stops were conducted and a search warrant was executed at a Greenwood residence. As a result, five Kings County residents were charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance:

-William Bruce Ryan, age 57

-Gary Edward Trimm, age 61

-Marie Diane Trimm, age 58

-Kerry Kip Laffin, age 57

-Travis Wayne Hodder, age 31

Three of the accused are appearing today in Windsor Court, while Gary and Marie Trimm will appear in court at a later date. The Kings District RCMP and Valley Integrated Street Crime Unit would like to remind the general public that it is illegal to sell prescription drugs.
