A couple of morning incidents at two separate retail locations in the downtown core kept HRPD busy.

10:00am Propeller Brewery, 2015 Gottingen St, Halifax
A male suspect entered the store and demanded money from the lone
female clerk. The suspect didn’t show any weapon but kept his hand in
his pocket. The suspect was given a small quantity of cash.He fled the
store and ran north on Gottingen St. The matter is still under
investigation.
Suspect is described as a black male, early 50s, 5’2", slim build,
wearing a black jacket.

11:45 am, Charm Diamond Center, 5475 Spring Garden Rd, Halifax
A male suspect entered the store and threatened the staff and told them
he wanted to rob them. The male walked around the store and staff were
able to flag down a passing police vehicle. The officers entered the
store and arrested the suspect for threats and robbery. The suspect was
found to be in possession of a knife.
The 45 year old accused will appear in Halifax Provincial Court
tomorrow facing charges of robbery, threats, possession of a weapon and
breach of probation.
